Meet Dylan

My name is Dylan Fogarty and I am a fully licensed and insured fishing guide in the state of Pennsylvania with both CPR and First Aid certifications.

I began fishing at the age of three years old at Pinchot Lake with my parents and

grandfather.  As I grew older, I would walk to the Conodoguinet Creek and fish in my free time. In the spring of 2012, at 10 years of age, I joined the Capital City Bassmasters youth club and was introduced to tournament bass fishing. Under the mentorship of the adult boat captains, I was able to grow my knowledge of bass fishing. At the start of my freshman year at Cumberland Valley High School, I started the first ever bass fishing club.  This club enabled me to fish in statewide tournaments.  By my junior year of high school, I was the 2x Youth Angler of the Year at Capital City Bassmasters and a Bassmaster High School State and National All-American. During my senior year, I wrapped up my third Capital City Bassmaster AOY award and my second Bassmaster High School All-American. My regional success led me to compete in the High School National Championship and World Finals in Lacrosse, WI on the Mississippi River.

During my senior year of high school, I also earned my Eagle Scout rank through Boy Scouts of America. My Eagle project consisted of building a set of steps along the Conodoguinet Creek in my neighborhood. The bank access to the creek was eroding, steep and dangerous for anyone trying to navigate it.   My goal in building the steps was to help control the erosion and create better access for families to enjoy the creek as I had done as a child.

After graduation, I was still undecided on my college choice.  My academics, passion for conservation and volunteering caught the eye of several colleges with elite bass fishing programs.  Colleges like Montevallo, Adrian College, and Bethel University reached out to me with opportunities to fish on their teams.

Bethel University in McKenzie, TN seemed to be a perfect fit. It took a few tries to find a partner that matched my style of fishing but by the end of my freshman year I found a partner with the same drive to compete. We instantly began breaking the top 100 in competition. My sophomore year, we came ready and started 2022 by winning the MLF Collegiate Open on Lake Chickamauga with a whopping 2-day total of 45lbs 9oz, out pacing the second-place team by 14lbs. In my following two seasons fishing collegiately my teammate and I notched several top 10's and top 20's. Notably finishing 3rd in the TN Bass Nation Governors Cup Tournament on Kentucky Lake, 7th at an MLF College tournament at Table Rock Lake, 3rd at a Bassmaster College Series Tournament at Kentucky Lake, and 10th at the 2024 Collegiate Bass National Championship. Upon graduating in May, 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Marketing, I returned to Central PA and continued fishing, while giving back to the youth anglers of the Capital City Bassmasters, winning the 2024 Angler of the Year title. Finishing the year strong, I am now taking the next step in fishing Division 1 of the Bassmaster Opens in 2025.  The first Open, held in Clarks Hill, GA, in January, 2025, I finished in 7th place on Day 1.  You can catch Day 2 action on YouTube.  When not fishing the Opens, I will be guiding and fishing a few MLF BFL's and other local tournaments.
